Michel Masson is Chief Executive Officer of Yarra Trams, the operator of Melbourne's tram network, and Managing Director of Keolis Australia. The consortium behind Yarra Trams is Keolis Downer EDI (KDR) Victoria, a partnership of the internationally recognised transport solution provider Keolis and Australia's oldest rail company Downer EDI Rail. As Head of Finance and Operations for Keolis (International Division) he was responsible for managing public transport operations in seven countries: UK, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Canada. He also has personal experience in managing rail transport networks around the world, having served as a Non-Executive Director of the UK Keolis subsidiaries Govia, which operates the Southern, Southeastern and London Midlands train networks, First Keolis which operates the Transpennine franchise and in Germany for three rail franchises. Prior to joining Keolis he held various senior finance positions in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France and the USA for SDV, a division of the Bollore Group. SDV is an international transport and logistics specialist operating in 88 countries with 26,000 employees and is internationally renowned as a provider of customised solutions using the most advanced technologies. Michel is a graduate of the EDHEC Business School in France, a CFA Charter holder and member of the US CFA Institute. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Australian Management Institute. Michel is a Director on the National Advisory Board for the Tourism and Transport Forum, a Non-Executive Director of Gold Coast Rapid Transit (Goldlinq), a Director of the Victorian French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and a Trade Advisor for the French Ministry of Trade and Commerce.
