Tram Track Improvement Works - St Kilda Light Rail
The existing tram tracks on the St Kilda Light Rail, between Fitzroy Street - St Kilda Station tram stop (Metropol) and Fraser Street, were excavated and replaced with new rail from Saturday 16 June to Tuesday 19 June 2007.
The track renewal works will improve the quality of the St Kilda Light Rail and increase the safety and reliability of tram services.
Tram users should notice a smoother ride with reduction in tram swaying, as well as reduction in service disruptions.
