Tram Track Improvement Works - Bell St, Preston

Approximately 108 metres of double track on Bell Street in Preston (between Plenty Road and the entrance to the East Preson Depot) were excavated and replaced with new rail on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September 2007.

The track renewal works will improve the quality of the tracks and increase the safety and reliability of tram services.

Tram users should notice a smoother ride with reduction in tram swaying, as well as reduction in service disruptions.
