What if I refuse to show my Metcard (and concession entitlement) or are found to be travelling without a valid ticket?

It is an offence under the Transport Act to fail to produce a Metcard on request by an Authorised Officer. Even if you have a ticket in your possession you may still be reported if the Authorised Officer is unable to substantiate whether or not you have a valid ticket. Officers are authorised to request your correct name and current address to enable the matter to be reported to the Department of Infrastructure.
