Sheri joins KDR after being employed by Railcorp in NSW for the past four years. She commenced as Manager Safety Systems and Risk before being promoted to GM Safety & Environment for the Customer Services Division where she led a team of 18 with four direct reports. Sheri moved from this role to Manager Asset Business Improvement and Change within the Strategic Asset Management Division. Her most recent role was Manager Workplace Culture where she led a team of eight in promoting culture change across all areas of RailCorp.

As GM Safety and Environment, Customer Services, Sheri’s focus was centred on the people and what they needed to make safety an utmost priority in their jobs. Sheri had a visible presence in determining the risk profile of each area, in consultation with local managers and employees and ensuring that risk was managed effectively with a strong focus on public safety. Sheri played a lead role in the implementation of an initiative around identifying hazards and controls on platforms, such as platform gaps, curves, gradients access and heights so appropriate engineering changes could be implemented while considering safety change management principles. Sheri also played a lead role in managing the asbestos removal program across a number of stations which involved managing the public profile (liaising with the media and writing ministerial reports) as well as working closely with the station operations and building teams. This required detailed planning in order to minimise the impact on travel times whilst maintaining high levels of safety and continued confidence of customers.

In all of her recent roles Sheri has had a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement which has been critical in getting the right message across to the appropriate audience while also ensuring that when things do not go to plan, a cooperative relationship is there to work through a resolution.
