Yarra Trams wishes to advise that due to construction for an upgrade of the Melbourne University tram terminus, the following temporary tram service changes will apply from first tram Saturday 8 January to last tram Thursday 20 January 2005.

- Route 1 services from East Coburg will terminate at the intersection of Lygon and Elgin Streets.
- Route 8 services from Moreland will terminate at the intersection of Lygon and Elgin Streets.
- Route 1 services from South Melbourne Beach will terminate at the intersection of Swanston and Franklin St.
- Route 8 services from Toorak will terminate at the intersection of Swanston and Queensberry Streets.
- Routes 5, 6, 16 and 72 will terminate at the intersection of Swanston and Queensberry Streets.
- Routes 3, 64 and 67 will terminate at the intersection of Swanston and Franklin Streets.
- A shuttle bus service will operate between the intersection of Swanston and Franklin Streets and the intersection of Lygon and Elgin Streets.

The shuttle bus service will be required to divert around the work site. Buses will travel along the tram route on Swanston Street, and divert around the work site via Grattan Street, Cardigan Street, Elgin Street and Lygon Street.

The works involve replacing the tram tracks in Swanston Street Carlton, at the tram terminus opposite Melbourne University.

Passengers travelling on the replacement bus services will require valid Metcards for their journey. Bus drivers will sell a limited range of Metcards. Yarra Trams recommends passengers pre-purchase tickets from authorised Metcard retailers before travel to save time.

Yarra Trams suggests that you allow extra time for your journey.
