All night tram services for New Years Eve

Yarra Trams has added an extra 2400 tram services on New Years Eve to get party-goers to and from the city safely.

The extra services will mean trams running every 5-10 minutes between 6pm and 2am on almost all routes on the network (except routes 5, 24/30, 78/79, 82 and City Circle). After 2am, trams will run every 30 minutes until the first scheduled Sunday services.

As one of Melbourne's biggest events, over 1000 Yarra Trams staff will work through the night including drivers, maintenance, fleet controllers and customer service staff.

In addition to increased services on regular routes, additional shuttle services are being provided:

55	Extra Route 55a services between West Coburg and Stop 2 Flinders & Market Sts
57	Extra Route 57a services between City and Stop 33 Melbourne Showgrounds
59	Extra Route 59a services between City and Stop 47 Bulla Rd & Mt Alexander Rd
72	Extra Route 72a services between City and Stop 44 Burke and Malvern Roads
75	Extra Route 75a services between Stop 6 Flinders & Russell Sts City and Stop 66 Middleborough Rd & Burwood Hwy
78	Trams operating a 15 minute frequency until 1:30am, then every 30 mins
86	Extra Route 86a services between Stop 2 Central Pier Docklands and Stop 60 La Trobe University
112	Extra Route 11a services between St Kilda and Stop 34 Miller St and St Georges Rd
Yarra Park	Shuttle tram to family fireworks (7:30pm-10:30pm): Route 75a between Stop 6 Flinders & Russell Sts and Stop 13 Wellington Pde & Simpson St (near Punt Rd) Route 70a between Stop 6 Flinders & Russell Sts and Stop 7C MCG / Hisense Arena
Docklands	Shuttle trams every 5 mins on Route 70a between Stop 4 Flinders and Elizabeth Sts and Stop D2 Central Pier Docklands via Flinders St and Harbour Esplanade
St Kilda	Shuttle trams every 3-4 minutes between Stop 14 Arts Precinct and Stop 140 Barkly St & Acland St for passengers to St Kilda Road, Fitzroy Street and St Kilda Beach.

Some CBD road closures apply will mean that no trams will operate in the following areas:

On Swanston St between Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station and Stop 14 Arts Precinct.
On Flinders St between Stop 4 Elizabeth & Stop 6 Russell St
On Route 55 between Stop 2 Market St and Stop 20 Domain Interchange
On Docklands Drive between Stop D2 Central Pier and Stop D11 Waterfront City
