Advertising on trams and at stops
Yarra Trams has added an extra 2400 tram services on New Years Eve to get party-goers to and from the city safely.
The extra services will mean trams running every 5-10 minutes between 6pm and 2am on almost all routes on the network (except routes 5, 24/30, 78/79, 82 and City Circle). After 2am, trams will run every 30 minutes until the first scheduled Sunday services.
As one of Melbourne's biggest events, over 1000 Yarra Trams staff will work through the night including drivers, maintenance, fleet controllers and customer service staff.
In addition to increased services on regular routes, additional shuttle services are being provided:

Shuttle trams every 5 mins on Route 70a between Stop 4 Flinders and Elizabeth Sts and Stop D2 Central Pier Docklands via Flinders St and Harbour Esplanade
St Kilda
Shuttle trams every 3-4 minutes between Stop 14 Arts Precinct and Stop 140 Barkly St & Acland St for passengers to St Kilda Road, Fitzroy Street and St Kilda Beach.
Some CBD road closures apply will mean that no trams will operate in the following areas:
