Yarra Trams Beware The Rhino pedestrian safety campaign has been recognised with a Gold Award for being one of the world's best integrated advertising campaigns at the International Davey Awards.
The Helsinki Agency, which created the herd of skateboarding rhinos released onto Melbourne's streets, has been recognised for effectively delivering the safety message in an unexpected and memorable way across a number of channels including cinema advertising, outdoor, experiential and social media.
Helsinki Creative Director John Hillier said: "We knew we had to do something really different to get this message across and with the help of a brave client I am proud of what we delivered."
The campaign has won worldwide acclaim with a number of international transport providers contacting Yarra Trams to seek advice about improving passenger safety on their own networks.
