Yarra Trams has reminded pedestrians in Melbourne to look, listen and be alert around trams with a quirky new campaign that compares the weight of one tram to that of 30 rhinos.
The campaign has been launched in response to a significant increase in pedestrians walking into the path of or into the side of trams while distracted. Yarra Trams are reminding people who are walking around trams to avoid being distracted by mobile phones or listening to music.
To support the campaign an advertisment has been created which reinforces the message that walking in front of a tram can have the same consequences as walking in front of a herd of rampaging rhinos. Click below to watch the virtual rhino stampede down Collins Street.
Facebook users can support the campaign and win prizes by logging on and liking Beware The Rhino.
