Tram improvement works on Chapel Street have been completed and the road has reopened to trams and traffic.
Construction work to improve safety and deliver a better road surface for motorists and cyclistsbegan on Saturday 25 August. The works took place between Dandenong Road and Commercial/Malvern Road.
The works were done 24-hours-a-day between Saturday and 5am Wednesday morning to ensure that they were completed by the scheduled time and that Route 78 services could resume their regular route and timetable.
Thanks for your patience during these works as we build for the next 100 years of Melbourne's trams.
