Yarra Trams
New accessible tram stop now open at City Square
A new accessible tram stop is now open at City Square, in
Swanston Street between Flinders Lane and Collins Street.
The stop will operate in the same way as the recently opened
stops at Melbourne Central and Bourke Street. The new tram zones
feature an elevated road for cyclists, with a clearly marked yellow
line separating pedestrians and cyclists.
Pedestrians using the new stop need to remember
to wait for trams behind the yellow line until tram doors have
opened.
Cyclists must slow down on approach to the
stop, and make a complete stop when trams do - keeping clear of
doors so that passengers can board and exit safely.
