Standards
Yarra Trams delivered 98.8 per cent of services in March with 78.7 per cent of services arriving on time. The result for punctuality means that Yarra Trams has not met the performance threshold and eligible passengers may claim compensation.
Trams share the city's roads and traffic congestion is a leading factor affecting tram performance. This is why we continue to work closely with our on-road partners including VicRoads to find ways to make journey times more reliable. Yarra Trams also continuously engage with major works Authorities to anticipate and mitigate impacts of Major State projects such as Melbourne Metro Tunnel and Level Crossing Removals on our customers' journey. Yarra manages the network in real-time to adjust to the road conditions and help people to safely get where they want to go.
Yarra Trams supported the delivery of a myriad of special events over the month of March, starting with the Sydney Rd and Glenferrie Rd Festivals, and ending with the most challenging week of the year, which included the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, the AFL season opening game with the reigning Champions kicking it off at MCG, while transporting 230,000 Formula One fans to and from the Grand Prix.
