Yarra Trams’ punctuality and service delivery for November were comparable to 2014 performance, with severe weather, CBD rallies and service changes due to network upgrades all affecting performance across the month.
Flooding on Thursday, 5 November caused slow road traffic and subsequent delays to trams, while a power cable falling on tram wires and debris washing onto tracks also presented challenges.
A suspicious package at Southern Cross Station on Tuesday, 17 November disrupted some of our busiest lines for several hours, while a rally with 50,000 attendees on Friday, 27 November blocked services in the CBD in the early evening.
Preparations are being finalised ahead of the introduction of Night Network services on 1 January and delivering a reliable service throughout the Christmas period.
