Advertising on trams and at stops
A new accessible tram stop is now open at City Square, between Flinders Lane and Collins Street.
The stop will operate in the same way as the recently opened stops at Melbourne Central and Bourke Street. The new tram zones feature an elevated road for cyclists, with a clearly marked yellow line separating pedestrians and cyclists.
Pedestrians using the new stop need to remember to wait for trams behind the yellow line until tram doors have opened.
Cyclists must slow down on approach to the stop, and make a complete stop when trams do - keeping clear of doors so that passengers can board and exit safely.
Yarra Trams anticipates that the next stop completed by the City of Melbourne will open at Franklin/Swanston Street in September.
For more information about the Swanston Street Redevelopment project visit the City of Melbourne website or call 9658 9658 (7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday)
