Due to crane removal works in Fitzroy Street, St Kilda the following service changes will apply on Saturday 20 October 2012 from first to last tram: Route 3a and 16 trams will operate as Route 3a and 16a between Melbourne University and East Malvern/Kew diverting between Stop 30 St Kilda Junction and Stop 36 St Kilda Town Hall via St Kilda Road. Tram replacement buses will operate to a 6-10 minute frequency in both directions between Stop 29 Union Street & St Kilda Road and Stop 36 St Kilda Town Hall. At platform stops, tram replacement buses will use temporary kerbside stops and travel via Union Street, Punt Road, Fitzroy Street, The Esplanade and Carlisle Street. Route 96 trams will operate normally. Due to these changes, tram services will operate to their normal frequency, however they may not arrive at the scheduled time. Yarra Trams suggests you allow extra time for your journey.
