As part of the modernisation of Melbourne's tram network, Yarra Trams will be renewing tram tracks, replacing the overhead wires and constructing an accessible tram stop near the intersection of Power Street, Wallen Road and Riversdale Road (Riversdale Junction) from Saturday 30 June to Thursday 5 July 2012.
The following tram service changes will apply:
Routes 70 and 75 tram services will operate as Routes 70a and 75a in two sections connected by tram replacement buses:
Route 70a Waterfront City Docklands to Burnley (Stop 18 Swan Street and Yarra Boulevard) Wattle Park terminus - temporary stop in Riversdale Road near the works site.
Tram stops 19, 20 and 29 on Route 70 will not be serviced during the works.
Route 75a City Spencer Street terminus to Richmond (Stop 23 Hawthorn Bridge) Vermont South terminus - temporary stop in Riversdale Road near the works site. Tram stops 27 (To City only), 28 and 29 on Route 75 will not be serviced during the works. A tram replacement bus service will operate between Burnley, Richmond (Stop 18) and Stop 34 Kooyongkoot and Riversdale Roads to allow passengers on Routes 70a and 75a to continue their journey. The bus will travel via Auburn Road, Riversdale Road, Glenferrie Road, Burwood Road, Yarra Boulevard, Swan Street, Burnley Street and Bridge Road. Tram replacement buses will utilise existing kerbside tram stops along the route and temporary tram stops will be located at the following locations:
During these changes, tram services will operate to their normal frequency, however they may not arrive at the scheduled time. Yarra Trams suggests that you allow extra time for your journey.
