Altered services will run on Route 8 and Route 70 trams from
first service Sunday 21 July until approximately 11am due to the
Run Melbourne event.
The event course extends from Federation Square, around the
Botanical Gardens, over the Yarra River and returns past the MCG.
The course requires road closures which affect trams.
Route 8 trams will operate as Route
8a between the Moreland terminus and the intersection of
Commercial and St Kilda roads (note: this is not normally a Route 8
Buses will replace trams between the intersection of Bowen
Crescent and St Kilda Road and the Toorak terminus. Buses will
travel via St Kilda Road and Toorak Road. Route 8 tram stops 21 to
26 will not be serviced due to road closures.

To connect between the two sections passengers may wish to
consider taking a train between Flinders Street and Richmond
During the change, trams will operate to the normal frequency.
However, they may not arrive at the scheduled time. Yarra Trams
suggests you allow extra time for your journey.
