CBD & St Kilda trams - Public event - Sunday 12 February

Extra trams are operating between the City & St Kilda and service changes apply on some trams on Sunday 12 February from 4.30am until last tram due to the St Kilda Festival.

Getting to St Kilda Festival

From Southern Cross Station:

Extra trams will operate every few minutes as Route 12a or 96a between the City & St Kilda, departing in Spencer St from Stop 122 Southern Cross Station, Collins St. This will be an accessible service.

From Flinders Street Station or Melbourne Central Station:

Extra trams will operate every few minutes as Route 16a between the City & St Kilda Junction departing in Swanston St from Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station or Stop 13 Flinders Street Station.

Special Needs - Chair -01 The last accessible stop will be Stop 29 Union St.

Service changes

Affected trams will operate with an 'a' alongside their route number to reflect the changes.

  • Route 3a: Trams will operate between East Malvern & Stop 32 Havelock St near Luna Park.
  • Route 5:  From 4pm to last tram, trams will operate between Malvern & Stop 38 Orrong Rd.
  • Routes 6 & 72: Trams will operate between the south eastern suburbs & Stop 14 Arts Precinct.
  • Route 8: Trams will operate in sections with no trams between Stop 14 Arts Precinct & Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station. Use other trams to connect. 
  • Route 12: Trams will operate between Stop 122 Southern Cross Station & St Kilda. Victoria St/Collins St passengers can connect using Route 109 trams.
  • Route 16:  Trams will operate between Melbourne University & Stop 30 St Kilda Junction. Extra trams will operate between Kew & Stop 32 Havelock St near Luna Park.
  • Route 96:  From 4.30am to last tram, trams will operate between East Brunswick & Stop 132 St Kilda Station.

During these changes, trams will operate to high frequency, however they may not arrive at the scheduled time. Please allow extra time for your journey.

Service changes may also affect Transdev Bus 600, 922, 923 & 246, and CDC Bus 606 & 623.
