Route 86 - Tram improvement work - Friday 1 to Monday 4 December

Update 

Due to severe weather warnings issued by the Victorian Government, these scheduled works have been postponed.

From 7.30am Sunday 3 December, Route 86 tram services will resume. Trams will operate to the normal frequency, however times may differ from the normal timetable. 

Service changes will apply on Route 86 trams from Friday 1 to Monday 4 December, from first to last tram, due to tram improvement work on Queens Pde & Smith St. 

Service changes

Route 86 trams will operate as Route 86a,with buses replacing trams between Stop 10 Parliament Station and Stop 25 Clifton Hill Interchange.

Buses will divert around the work zone and stop changes will apply. Buses will depart from the footpath near platform stops where possible.

Passengers may consider South Morang or Hurstbridge line trains between the City and the suburbs as an alternative. 

The last accessible stop travelling from Bundoora RMIT is Stop 26 Walker St. The last accessible stop travelling from Waterfront City Docklands is Stop 10 Parliament Station. Please alert your driver or our Customer Service staff if you require any assistance travelling beyond these stops.

During the work, trams and replacement buses will operate to the normal frequency, however they may not arrive at the scheduled time. We suggest you allow extra time for your journey.
